AGU Signs Agreement with Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group to Develop University Accommodation in Sakhir

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has recently signed a contract with the Mr Shahid Mahmood, CEO of Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group, to develop and renovate the university’s student accommodation in Sakhir.

The project aims to provide greater comfort and a healthy environment for male and female students studying in the university’s College of Medicine and Medical Sciences and the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences. AGU is keen to provide suitable housing for all students, ensuring their comfort, stability, and academic achievement.

On the occasion, Dr Al Fuhaid emphasised the importance of timely completion of the project by Naz Al Khaleej Contracting Group due to its expertise in design, construction, and project management services. He stressed that the university’s goal is to provide a comfortable and healthy environment for all students.

For his part, Mr Mahmood welcomed the continued cooperation with AGU and assured that his company will deliver the project on time. He also highlighted that the project includes various developments such as renovating rooms and bathrooms, replacing furniture and kitchens, and developing electricity and sanitation systems.

The project includes renovating and developing 492 university rooms, as well as 144 rooms designated for postgraduate students studying in the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences. The development also includes replacing furniture, kitchens, air conditioning units, electrical appliances, and lamps, and it is expected to be completed by next February.

In addition to the accommodation development, the university is working on constructing two gyms, one for males and one for females, new laundry rooms, and fencing the university accommodation after completing the parking lot shading project. The university is also planning to carry out gardening and landscaping work to prepare for the new academic year.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from AGU, including Dr Abdulrahman Ismail, Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Waheeb Al Nasser, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Scientific Research and Innovation, Mr Khalil Al Humri, Head of the Maintenance Department, and Ms Aysha Al Subaiee, Head of Student Care and the University Accommodation Unit, as well as Mr Khalid Ibrahim, Director of Special Projects at Haj Company.
