Al-Ma’awdah Fuels Bahrain’s Construction Industry with Premium Qatar Steel Supply

Al-Ma’awdah for Construction Materials, a Bahrain-based company specializing in the trading of building materials for over four decades, has announced that it has successfully imported the initial shipment of Qatar Steel to Bahrain.

This comes after a six-year hiatus during which the product was unavailable in the Bahraini market. The company emphasized that this shipment of “Qatar Steel” represents a significant milestone, boasting exceptional quality that adheres to the relevant British standard and has been approved by the Ministry of Works in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Al-Ma’awdah Company clarified that the primary objective of procuring Qatar Steel is to fulfill the demand of contractors and dealers who seek high-quality rebar. Additionally, it aims to enhance the variety of rebar sources to ensure an uninterrupted supply of construction materials in the Bahraini market, promoting competitiveness in prices and meeting the market’s needs. This initiative also aims to bolster economic and urban growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The company highlighted its longstanding partnership with Qatar Steel, which dates back to 1993. It proudly emphasized that it has been a reliable supplier of essential materials for significant projects in Bahrain, including the Bahrain International Circuit, Four Seasons Hotel, Marassi Galleria, Fontana Towers, Wyndham Grand Hotel, City Centre Bahrain, and numerous others. In line with this, the company recently completed an expansion plan for its branches, aiming to cover a significant portion of the Kingdom of Bahrain and provide closer proximity to its valued customers.

Mr. Isa Almoawda, Executive Vice President, said, “Bahrain is currently experiencing the presence of key factors that promote urban growth, such as low construction costs and foreign investment attraction. Steel in Bahrain has traditionally been imported from the UAE and Saudi Arabia. However, the building materials market has encountered price fluctuations in recent years due to global challenges faced by supply chains.”

“It is incumbent upon us, as companies, to play a significant role in diversifying import sources and guaranteeing the availability of a wide range of materials in the markets. In this regard, we are delighted to reestablish our partnership with Qatar Steel, as it significantly aids in fulfilling the requirements of the local market for top-notch rebar while offering a multitude of sources and competitive prices. This collaboration, in turn, bolsters economic and urban growth in the Kingdom, and we are thrilled to contribute to such development.” According to Mr. Isa Almoawda.
