Arabian Gulf University Signs Agreement to Construct Multi-storey Car Park Building to Serve Students, Staff

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), has recently signed a contract with Mr Jalal Mohammed Jalal, CEO of Mohammed Jalal and Sons Group of Companies, to construct a multi-storey car park building adjacent to the university’s premises in Salmaniya.

The project, covering an area of approximately 8,256 square metres, aims to address the increasing demand for parking spaces on campus, particularly with the expected influx of new students following the introduction of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, as well as other new specialisations at the graduate level within the programmes offered by the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences for GCC students.

On this occasion, Dr Al Fuhaid emphasised the importance of timely completion to ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment for students, as the project is slated for completion in September 2025, featuring three floors to accommodate 669 vehicles.

Commenting during the signing ceremony, the President praised the Mohammed Jalal and Sons Group of Companies for its reputation in Bahrain and the GCC countries, expressing his confidence in the group’s ability to deliver the project on schedule.

On his part, Mr Jalal welcomed the partnership with the university, which he described as a beacon of knowledge and one of the largest and most successful joint Gulf academic projects that is pioneering and honourable at the Gulf, Arab and international levels. He assured that his company would adhere to the project timeline and meet all specifications.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Abdulrahman Yousif Ismael, Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Waheeb Alnaser, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Scientific Research and Innovation, and Mr Khalil Alhamri, Head of the Maintenance Department, while Mr Khalid Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of Special Projects at Haj Company, and Mr John Beddall General Manager of Mohammed Jalal and Sons Group of Companies.
