Smile Initiative Hosts Workshop on Handling Diverse Personality Types for Members and Volunteers

The Smile initiative, a program by the Bahrain Future Society for Youth, offers psychosocial support to children with cancer and their families in Bahrain, recently, held a training workshop for volunteers and members involved in providing this support. The workshop, titled “The Art of Dealing with Different Personality Types,” was conducted by International Training Consultant Ms. Ebtihaj Khalifa.

The workshop covered several key topics, including the concept of personality and the importance of understanding different personality types. It explored the four main personality types—leadership, analytical, expressive, and friendly—in terms of behavior and personality compass. At the end of the workshop, participants took personality tests, helping them to understand their own personality patterns and learn how to leverage these insights in their interactions and daily lives.

Commenting on the workshop, Mr. Sabah Al-Zayani, Chairman of the Future Society for Youth, expressed his happiness with the positive impact it had on the attendees, and stated, “The atmosphere was very positive, and the workshop witnessed exceptional interaction that exceeded all expectations, as participants, members, and volunteers, were eager to learn and develop themselves to enhance the quality of their volunteer services. They were keen to invest their energies and the knowledge they gained about personality styles to support children with cancer and their parents to the fullest. Special thanks to Ms. Ebtihaj Khalifa for her valuable efforts in presenting and directing the workshop optimally.”

Al-Zayani added, “We have decided to reorganize this workshop to include all members of the Future Society, not just those in the ‘Smile’ initiative, due to the importance of understanding personality types and how to interact with them, especially in the workplace. This knowledge helps place individuals in roles that suit their personalities, abilities, and capabilities, making communication smoother and reducing potential conflicts. This will elevate our community and strengthen the bonds and cooperation among its members.”
